Friday 13th August 2021: Dublin, Ireland: The world’s leading media real estate and studio services organisation, a joint venture of Hackman Capital Partners and Square Mile Capital Management announce the acquisition of two world-renowned film and television studios in Ireland - Ardmore Studios, Bray Co Wicklow and Troy Studios, Castletroy, Co Limerick. The partnership owns the world’s largest independent studio and media portfolio, which now includes approximately €3.6 Billion in media real estate assets and exclusively services over 360 sound stages within its MBS Group network of 65+ locations across 46 cities and four countries.

The internationally renowned Ardmore Studios is being placed on the market, for sale as a going concern, the Board of Directors of Ardmore Studios International Ltd announced today. Recognised by film makers and producers across the world as Ireland’s leading provider of film and TV studio infrastructure, Ardmore Studios has benefited from a significant investment programme in recent years to enhance its facilities and has recorded year-on-year growth in profitability. IBI Corporate Finance is acting for Ardmore in the sale process.
Ardmore Studios Launch New Production Facility

Ardmore Studios has launched "Ardmore Film Factory", an additional production facility in Bray, Co. Wicklow.
These premises serve as both an extension to Ardmore's primary location on Herbert Road, and as a stand-alone site, facilitating growth of production activity in the area. Ardmore Film Factory is located just 5 minutes from Herbert Road, in Bray Business Park, directly behind Kilruddery Estate.
Ardmore Film Factory houses over 30,000 sq ft of studio space, and 11,000 sq ft of office space in an enclosed establishment to enable new productions of any shape and size to shoot in County Wicklow.
Ardmore supports Action Plan for Jobs

Ardmore Studio’s has welcomed the news that the Action for Jobs Report 2015 specifically cites the film and TV production industry as a potential source of new job creation and an expert group is being established to examine the shortage of full serviced studio space in Ireland.
Siún Ní Raghallaigh, CEO stated that the inclusion of a high level expert committee to examine and make recommendations to increase studio infrastructure was acknowledgement of the potential of the sector to achieve growth and create more jobs.
According to Ms Ní Raghallaigh, the speedy turnaround for the recommendations from this Government Committee of Q1 2015 is vitally important and to be welcomed as the lack of sufficient full serviced studio space is currently resulting in Ireland having to turn away lucrative film and television business.
“Studios are the essential enablers for the industry to scale up and to build the scale needed by the industry requires immediate investment,” says Ms Ní Raghallaigh.

From the 1st January 2015, Ireland’s tax incentive has been significantly increased and is now worth 32% of eligible Irish expenditure.
The tax credit has a per project cap of 32% of the lower of:

80% of the total cost of production

€50 million
Eligible expenditure is now based on the cost of all cast and crew working in Ireland.
An application for a certificate entitling the applicant to the tax credit can be submitted at any time prior to the completion of the project.
The incentive applies to feature film, TV drama (singles and series), animation and creative documentary.

The first episode of Dancing With The Stars Ireland was broadcast live on RTÉ One last night from Ardmore Studios Film Factory. Hosted by Amanda Byram and Nicky Byrne, the full lineup of celebrity dancers includes Aidan O’Mahony, Aoibhín Garrihy, Dayl Cronin, Denise McCormack, Des Bishop, Des Cahill, Dr Eva Orsmond, Hughie Maughan, Katherine Lynch, Teresa Mannion and Thalia Heffernan.
